March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness month. There was a very special woman by the name of Layne that lost her battle to the disease several years ago, I never had the pleasure of knowing her, but several of the wonderful ladies over at All About Beads did know Layne and have an annual fund raising event in her honor.

Click on that button and you will be taken to the website or click HERE (if you want to get right to bidding) to be taken directly to the EBay auction page. Remember - auctions will begin this Sunday, March 1.
Last year, which is the second year in which I participated, I beaded up a doll for the auction. All participants are provided with an identical kit of beads and from that kit magic springs forth in the various beady creations. It is a wonderful way to not only help out with a nice donation, but to own a beautiful piece of beaded art as well. The auctions will run through the end of April and will showcase 9 stunning new items each Sunday - that's over 70 items people! Seventy incredible creations all up for grabs. Mark your calendars and be prepared to break open those piggy banks.

Recently I received my kit for the 2010 auctions and have been busily working away on that project. There were 80 kits mailed out this year - and the colors/beads are amazing! I will post photos of my progress once I know all kits have been received - I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise for anyone else that doesn't know yet what is in the kit this year!
