Vintage Denim Blue

I finished this cuff recently, I actually set out to make one for me that would go with blue jeans and I'm pleased with the results.

I can't remember where I found the center bead - there is a hole through it so it is an actual bead. Pretty isn't it?

I added a small bit of red and green to match the buttons used as the clasp.

There are a couple of pearls and a few cobalt blue vintage nailheads.

I couldn't resist adding some sparkle with a few Swarovski bicones.

And some tiny lapiz hearts.

Last (but not least) are the pretty little vintage glass buttons used as the clasp.

This is a very soft cuff style bracelet, I used dark blue stiffened felt (similar to Pellon) as the base and did not add any metal between the base and the backing.

Ultrasuede was added as the backing and it was done!

It so pretty- love the buttons. I find these cuffs to be so comfortable, especially with the ultrasuede backing. I do like the metal based cuffs too, just because they are so easy to get on and off.

This is such a beautiful piece. I love it because the front is simply ornate and your choice of stitches and beads along the sides to the back are simple but not. I love it and I love your choice of blue. Beutiful bracelet.

Oh Grace - soooooo very pretty.
I picture YOU, in your favorite pair of very soft, very worn jeans, a crisp white linen or cotton shirt and the Pièce de résistance - this gorgeous beaded cuff on your lovely arm.

Lovely job, Grace! I am in the middle of two bracelets done with brass blanks but after seeing what you have done with a soft cuff, methinks I will try that method soon myself.

Thank you all for the comments! I am loving this one more each time I pick it up. And that ultrasuede backing is so very soft and comfortable.

Phyl, your comment made me chuckle - the bracelet is about 1 1/4 inches wide, so the photos are super macro. The thread... just regular C-Lon beading thread, but it looks like a rope in the photos!

Cathie - glad you're squared away on directions, I'm expecting to see a doll soon :-)

KV - I'm really looking forward to seeing your finished pieces, I LOVE your bead work!

Another beautiful cuff Grace! Love the colors and your beading is exquisite.

Am going to art retreat shortly and will be taking the gorgeous beaded doll you made for me for show and tell!

How are those gorgeous kitties of yours?

Absolutely wonderful creation, Grace. All those blues put me at instant peace, but the small touches of chartreuse and red bring in the perfect amount of movement and energy. Brava! :D

My goodness... such nice comments, thanks so much!

Elizabeth - if you do anything with beads like you do embroidery, it will be amazing!
