A little face time!

It's that time of year! Sassy Art Goddess' annual beaded face swap is happening this month. If you have not participated before, I suggest you do your darnedest to get involved. Every year there are more and more amazing participants and faces!

I beaded up this one last night for the swap and hope to get 2 more done before the deadline. You can do it too! They are small (no bigger than 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches) so they bead up pretty quickly. The polymer clay face was created by Jen Martin at GraphixOutpost

Check out Carol's blog for all the details and please join me if at all possible!

Very pretty Grace. I love the face. I like the open eye faces and this one has a different shape too.

I have a question perhaps you can answer. This face is not held onto the piece by beads so did you just glue it on? Do they hold up well just glued on? And what glue did you use?

I went to the etsy shop and liked a face that had hands with it. They are not beads but cabs. I'd like to know how well they stick to cloth. Have you ever drilled holes through any to sew it on?

I can't join up this year but it sounds like fun. Maybe I can make one or two during the year to be ready for next year's swap. There were a lot of nice faces in the 2007 group and I imagine 2008 will be similar.

Thanks Phyl!

Timaree - you are correct, it is glued on. I use E6000 and so far when I've needed to get something 'unstuck' I have had to cut it off. The bond it pretty solid. There is no pulling off a cab/face that has been glued with this stuff. The drawback is that some folks really have a hard time with the smell (like airplane glue), it doesn't seem to bother me.

I use it to glue faces to my dolls and to glue faces to Pellon in order to bead around, but do use less when I will stitch something down.

Lovely pin, Grace.
Love the face and the colors -- delightful.
Maybe I'll get some time this weekend to make one for the exchange. It is a very fun exchange and was the very first thing I participated in when I began beading 2 years ago.

she's lovely, grace....I'm one of those folks who can't use the E6000 because of my husband's chemical sensitivities, so I use the archival double-sided tape, but I've always bezelled around the cab since I'm not sure the tape alone will hold a cab....
