Fall Brooches...

*** WINNER *** Congratulations to Tammy Lang, she won the little orange pin. Hey Tammy - second win today for you, don't they come in three's? Better get yourself down to the store and pick up a lotto ticket for tonight! Expect your pin to arrive sometime next week (provided I can get to the post office by Wednesday)

Playing catch up with blog posts, so I'm a bit out of season with this one.

For Halloween, I beaded up a couple of face pins for fun. First is a witch. This polymer clay face was created by Linsart - such character in that face! Accented in purple and green beads, she was a hit at Halloween. Isn't she grand?

Here's the back for those that are interested.

Then I moved on to a pumpkin face. This polymer clay face was created by Jennifer Martin of GraphixOutpost. With that grimace, I found it to be kinda creepy, kinda cool and absolutely perfect!

Again, the back for anyone interested

For Thanksgiving or just autumn in general - a perfect little pin in fall colors. This started out with a small Swarovski Elements Crystal Filigree found at Fusion Beads. Several months back they had a wide variety of wonderful colors in 2 different sizes. They were discontinued and 50% off. How can you say no to that? It's a sweet little pin with an amazing amount of sparkle!

I never did get a chance to wear it and would like to offer it up now for a drawing. Would you like to call it yours? I know autumn is over (as the thermometer keeps rudely telling me), but there is always next year, right?

Just leave a comment here and I will throw your name into a hat some time next weekend. Please make sure there is a way to contact you, either a link to your blog/website or if you don't have a website, your email address in your comment will work. Comments will be closed around midnight December 18.

All of the pins are nice but I actually like the one you are giving away the best! I can imagine the sparkle. The seed beads look differently done than your usual especially around the edge. It looks sparkly and fresh even if fall is about going to sleep for the winter.

This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body - Walt Whitman
