Use the Muse II
The winners were announced today as well as the entire gallery posted of all the entries. There are a ton! It really nice to see so many entries from so many different countries.
Here's a link
And now that I can finally talk about it/post photos... this was another fun one for me. My first attempt at a necklace, wait - I guess it's my second attempt, anyway it is a stretch for me. I'm not big on necklaces myself, I never wear them.
The muse happened to match a face by Jen Martin perfectly, so I wanted to incorporate that into the piece.
I am not all that skilled in some of the techniques used to make necklaces, I do not know how or have the tools for stringing so I went with a simple spiral rope - it measures 24 inches.
It is backed with Ultrasuede. I'm not sure what I will do with it, but I'm sure I will think of something!
I have already ordered a kit for Use the Muse III, I am a glutton for punishment that way. Won't you join me?

Leaves of Grass
This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body

It's absolutely beautiful Grace. So the muse this time was the donut? I don't wear much jewelry at all so having to make jewelry for these muse things has kept me from joining in so far but now I have to go take another look.
Oooooh! I like this one, Grace. What a nice combination. I may have to sign up for this one.
Hi Grace..

I absolutly love the necklace. I have been working on a face surrounded with beads and you have inspired me to finish it off as a necklace.
Grace, you always use the most amazing faces for your beadwork. I love this one and I really, really love what you've done with it. Beautiful, as always.
Your Muse is beautiful, Grace, and I am sure you will find a great home for her :D Someone will be very lucky to put this around her neck one of these days!

Thanks all, I've probably said it before, but I have been a bit remiss in visits/posts to my blog. I do appreciate each and every comment though.
