Bead embroidered earrings

Have I mentioned that I will be attending a Bead Unique Bead Retreat in Lake Tahoe in October? Between this and Facebook, I can't remember what I post where. Anyway, one of the extra curricular activities is an earring swap. I took this as the perfect opportunity to try my hand at making a pair (or more).

Once I got going, I had a hard time taking a break. While the Bead Retreat swap inspired me to make earrings, I have donated both pair in this post for an online auction at work. I have at least 2 others finished for the swap. Will post photos of those soon.

First up, vintage German glass cabs, accented with Czech and Japanese seed beads, clear crystal 3 mm Swarovski bicones around the outside edge.

Backed with a dark green Ultrasuede. Not including the ear wires, these measure 1 1/2 inches

Small Hematite cabs are the focal for the second pair, accented with Japanese and Czech beads as well as black true cut seed beads around the outside edge. They are backed with black Ultrasuede and measure approximately 1 inch (not including the ear wires)

THOSE ARE GORGEOUS! I really can't wait to met you, Grace. I've got brooches done, but not earrings.

Great earrings. Whoever gets them is really fortunate. Yes, you've mentioned Bead Unique's retreat. Guess you are pretty excited! Have a good time.

Grace - these are gorgeous! You always do such exquisite beading. I recently moved house and the doll you made me plus one Lisa made for me are hanging in pride of place.

I'll trade you a pair of those earrings anytime, Grace. Haven't made mine yet for the swap. I've been finishing my last BJP page and doing project for our local bead show in Sept. I'm doing both earings and brooches. Can't wait to meet everyone in person.

You are going to have so much fun at the bead reatreat...not much longer either. Will be fun to hear about it.

Earrings are a great idea for the swap. These two pairs are so pretty and will do great at auction.

Laughed about Facebook! I checked it out to see what it was all about and what I am missing. It took me one second to say no way! I have a hard enough time posting on one blog! ;-)

Have been thinking of you. Hope you have a nice labor day weekend!
