Landanna

I do not remember how I first found and subscribed to this blog, but I am so happy I did. Elizabeth lives in Denmark and creates beautiful works of art. She also takes wonderful photos.

She is currently having a giveaway week, so go check out her blog when you get a chance - there are 4 days left of giveaways. I don't get extra chances to win to post about it here, I just noticed that she has not had a lot of traffic on her giveaway posts and her creations need to be seen!

Have fun!

Speaking of fun, I thought I'd add an old photo of me to this post - yes, that's me up there. The bonehead. That photo was taken in August of 2000. I signed up for a trip with a couple of thousand others that descended on the state of Alaska to participate in a bicycle ride to raise money for an AIDS vaccine. I was not one of the riders, but a crew member. I just found this photo in some old stuff and it brought back a lot of wonderful memories of one of my favorite trips. It was my first time to Alaska and such a wonderful way to see the scenery. We spent almost a week camping in a different picturesque place each evening. We started in Fairbanks and ended in Anchorage.

It was one of the best weeks of my life. Unfortunately the company that organized the ride no longer exists, but if you're interested in seeing one of the old videos about the rides, you can go here - Alaska is the first video listed.

Well, it looks like you had fun. Never would have taken you for a person to wear a bone through their head! We learned something new about you!!

Thanks for the Denmark link.

Hej Grace,

Thank you for your kind words. I just found your email with the information I need.

I hope you will enjoy your envelope just as much as I did while I was making this design.

Yours gratefully,
Elizabeth

I love this picture! You haven't changed one bit and by the smile on your face, you sure can tell that you were having a wonderful time! The bonehead is great!!! I have always wanted to see *beautiful* Alaska and haven't been yet. Oh, to see the aurora borealis...that would be spectacular!

Thank you for sharing the link to Elizabeth. Her blog and artwork are lovely and her pictures of Denmark are stunning too! ~Lisa ;-)

Now we know why we are dog's best friend!

My dad's memories of Alaska were some of his best too. Alaska must really strike the hearts of people.

You are one HOT MOMMA! Look at that smile, those braids - ouch girl!

How fun. I think we should all dig out old pictures of ourselves and put on our blog. Although this pic is not that old - you look very youthful and vibrant. A happy time - I can tell.

What a fabulous fun picture of you, I absolutely adore it and you too, of course! I know how much you loved your trip to Alaska and know too that you, no doubt, left your own mark there!

Love, peace and respect always!

Leaves of Grass

This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body - Walt Whitman
