Me, Fay and good mail

So... I'm back from Florida, I wish I could say I was able to enjoy a bit of the area, but that was not to be on this trip. I worked long days and with Fay hovering the entire time I was there - it was not conducive to going out exploring with the little time I did have. Not to mention I didn't have a car at my disposal, maybe another time! There was one day the office was closed due to a hurricane warning which turned into a little breeze and just a bit of rain - nothing serious thankfully. I was staying/working in the Tampa/Clearwater area, other areas were not so lucky. I will say... I'm HAPPY to be home!

Don't you love those days when you receive really good mail? Me too!

While I was away I received a wonderful package from Mexico, but I'm getting ahead of myself - let me start from the beginning. About a month ago, I answered a "Heart it Forward" challenge from Cami on her blog - Art, Like Bread. You can read all about the details...here. I adore handmade cards and was lucky enough to be the first to answer her challenge.

How cute are these?

I was losing daylight when I snapped these photos...

Not only were the cards included, but there were some other really neat items. The hearts in the first photo were included as well as these wonderfully colored paper items seen below.

And the beautiful beads and chips you see below.

Stay tuned - in the near future I will post my Heart it Forward Challenge

Welcome back. I just heard thunder and here in Arizona it would be a nice treat to have some rain! What a nice way to arrive home - with goodies in the mail. They are very nice cards too and a few extra beads can always be put to a good use.

I've decided to add beads I've been given or that I have made to my pages for this year. The ones you sent me will be showing up more than likely - they have a bit of red in them. I am using the color wheel as my other "rule" and brown isn't on it but I can fudge and place them with red or maybe yellow (golden brown?). I am not going to be a slave to my rules but use them as guides. I thought the gifted beads would be a fun addition. So thankyou again for the beads as they are the ones that made me think of this "rule".

I'm so glad you made it through and are home safe and sound! I sure was thinking about you during the week and wondering where in Florida you really were headed!

Your mail this week was wonderful! What great cards, tags, and beads!!! You are a lucky gal!!!

Hi friends... thanks for the comments.

Timaree - I'm really looking forward to seeing your completed piece, I like the idea of incorporating gifted beads into your pages

Lisa - can you believe I'm headed to FL again??? I really do not like flying south in hurricane season!

KV - I'm pretty lucky I think!

Leaves of Grass

This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body - Walt Whitman
