Happy Valentine's Day!

I feel like the luckiest person on the planet. I have had the very best week when it comes to mail and being showered with kindness and goodness from those near and far.

I received yet another, not to be believed, package from my friend Monica. I 'met' Monica a few years ago by way of Ebay when I first purchased her doll forms. It was just one of those 'things' - it seems we connected immediately. She is the BEST cheerleader when it comes to trying something new. She has provided encouragement and inspiration when I couldn't find it within myself. And now... this. Monica I'm overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity.

A large box was delivered to my door and as soon as I saw the return address I was positively giddy! I work from home, so I had to finish my work day with that box sitting there...staring at me begging to be opened. I wanted to wait to open it until I could really savor it. And when the time came and my work day was over - savor it, I did!

Come with me while I go through the contents of the box...

A cute little chair - perfect for a doll I'd say. And the card that came with the package

A bead magazine...

Who doesn't need a little chocolate and some fortune cookies?

Tons of odds and ends, beads, bits of material, ribbon

A party hat and revelers

Mouth-watering felted hearts

Paper mache hearts - ready for paint!

A wonderful little panel that looks like it's SCREAMING for some beads

This incredible journal

At this point I'm ready to pass out, it's all just too much! But, alas I battle through my weakness to pour over the rest of the treasures...

One of her adorable handmade funky cloth dolls - would you look at those LIPS?

One of her amazing beaded pins

Gulp... can you stand one more???
Last and certainly not least, this absolutely stunning ATC

So I ask you... am I not the luckiest person on the planet???

Thank you Monica - not only for the - oh so thoughtful package, but mostly for your friendship and encouragement. You're the best!

Oh my goodness Grace!! What a amazing package!! Monica is such a darling isn't she? I love everything she has sent to you and made for you. I own 3 of her ATC's and know how special her art is.

And her funky toy is so funny (love those lips too). What a beautiful (and well deserved) package. So much art from Monica's wide heart.

Art friends are the best friends :)

Ok, I'm blushing here... you got me! ha! I just had to say that I feel so fortunate to have your friendship and support and what's really funny is I tell my husband Jeff that Grace is my biggest cheerleader!!! always urging me on through projects in art.. but more so with the example you set in your everyday life- YOU give 100% and MORE without hesistation. You inspire me greatly, more than you know! Love spills from your blog... I wonder if it drips from your fingertips too? I'd suspect so, it's definitely reflected in the art that you create. ~Monica :)

Wow, Grace! You mopped up, girl!Is it your birthday and you kept mum, or was this great box of goodies
one of those "random acts of kindness"?! What great stuff from a great gal pal!
You are all generous, with
BIG hearts!

Aw.. thanks all. I really do feel like the luckiest girl alive right now - this has been such a wonderful couple of weeks, with the dolls from Dot, the packages from Monica and Noel and to cap it off - the OWOH event. All I can do is sigh happily, count my abundant blessings and wish the same for everyone else!

Oh.. and Phyl - it's not even my birthday. It was a swap with Dot, an exchange of sorts with Monica and a giveaway drawing on Noel's blog.

I'm rich in more ways that I can count.

Leaves of Grass

This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body - Walt Whitman
