Another beaded face

This one... I decided I had to keep. Can you blame me? This wonderful face is another by Jen Martin. I find it absolutely captivating.

It is 2 1/2 inches tall and about the same width. The silver beads used as the filler next to the face and on the edge are 11/0 true cuts. Charlotte's are used as the stopper beads on the turquoise beads next to the face.

I have named him Lusio, meaning light, in Zuni.

Hi Grace, lovely work you do!!! Thank you for hearting me on Etsy! I had no idea what the heart thing meant, I have only been on Etsy for 5 days and am completely ignorant of some of its subtleties!!! So, thank you very much!!! Carol in England!!

Each one just gets better than the one before! And, yes, it does have a quite distinct Zuni feel to it.

Leaves of Grass

This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body - Walt Whitman
