Bead Journal Project for March...

With all the excitement of the latest Beading For A Cure project, I almost forgot to post photos of my March brooch - I am calling this one Erin. I am not sure if you remember from earlier posts, but my plan is to bead this flower shape for all 12 months using one (and only one) color for each month.

This one started with a big vintage Swarovski margarita bead as the focal in the middle and is surrounded by size 8/0 beads with a size 11/0 as the stopper. Outside of that are sequins secured by drop beads.

Then lots and lost of transparent and matte finished beads to complete the flower. The back is a dark green Ultrasuede.

Now to start April. We hit 70 degrees today and I could not be happier about it! It is supposed to be even warmer tomorrow. Now to see what color this all motivates me to use for this month.

Its so pretty, Grace. I am acquiring a taste for green.

Yesterday, we had 70 also and when I came home my Daffodills finally bloomed. Spring is here for sure, now.

Happy April Fools. Hope you don't get too many pranks and that you play some yourself.

Looks wonderful! And it is so perfect for March. Not only the look of a shamrock but the green! We are turning green all over our desert - they'll be stickers later but it's pretty now.

Leaves of Grass

This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body - Walt Whitman
