Would you look at that?

I was a winner for one of the One World One Heart drawings. This one was held by QuiltDivaJulie at Me & My Quilts ~ Exploring the Possiblities. Aren't these fabrics beautiful???

Six different pieces in all.

How can I possibly complain about anything - after so many great mail days? Okay, well I might consider whining about the weather... it's been soooo cold! Snowed off and on all day today and was windy. I think it got up over zero degrees but not by much! More of the same tomorrow and the next day, and the next day after that. I believe we might see 40 degrees mid next week, I hope anyway. It's all the more reason to stay indoors and BEAD!

I'm almost done with my January Bead Journal page, I'll be happy to get it completed as it is a bit dark and depressing, but alas all a part of the cycle of life.

I also have several ideas in mind for February and March - maybe even incorporate one of these happy new fabrics. I'd love to work on a beaded doll again too, but alas I have a few projects in the works to finish first. I'm tossing around the idea in my head (plenty of room for that!) of having a beaded doll kit drawing here soon, if I can't make time to bead a doll, I'll at least put together all the parts so someone else can!

I hope your week is going well!

Beautiful fabrics. Can't wait to see what you do with them. I know what you mean about starting a new project right now, so why did I sign up for another? Because it's like candy or Lays potato chips- one just isn't enough!! Let that beaded doll stew and you'll find yourself starting one soon projects outstanding or not!

Hi Gracie!! Such lovely spring fabrics MUST chase those winter blues away. What a pretty little art doll you could make out of those. I'm going to try my hand at one when I get back from the quilt show. I love those little dolls and it would be fun to do an "exchange" with 4 or 5 people involved. Whatcha think???
Stay warm and have a great weekend. Oh, good luck in my drawing!!

Okay... well, it's still snowing, it's still cold - but Dot's right. How can I be chilly with all the warmth and goodness that shows up in my mailbox?

Cathie - I do like your idea, I've sent an email regarding that very topic!

How beautiful and so full of the joy of spring !

Leaves of Grass

This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body - Walt Whitman
