First, let me take a moment to say thank you to all of you that left heartfelt comments on the last post about my mom. I am sincerely touched and grateful for each and every one of them and for so many of you sharing a little piece of your life and the many ways in which mental illness has touched it. To merely state I'm overwhelmed by your kindess and support doesn't do the feeling justice. So, I will simply say again... THANK YOU.
Now how about some fun??? For those of you that know a bit about me, you understand how much I adore beading dolls and with that - spreading the beady love that comes with creating one of these little beauties.
I have put together a kit, including the 3 3/4 inch doll form pictured (made by, the oh so talented, Monica Magness) as well as the face (by Jen Martin at GraphixOutpost) that is glued in place.
Also included is a selection of seed beads in various sizes, sequins, and a couple of Swarovski crystals. I will also include a needle and color coordinated thread.
So... do you love to bead dolls? Is it something you have wanted to try, but didn't have all the supplies? As you can see, the fabric Monica chose for the form is beautiful by itself. So you can just put a few beads on it or completely encrust it. There are no rules other than to have fun with it!
Is bead embroidery something you have thought about, but not yet tried? Don't know which stitches to use? If so, please check out the right side of my blog for some great links under 'Tutorials'. Need some inspiration perhaps? Check the links listed under 'Inspiring', you'll see some amazing bead embroidery!
Okay, let's get to the details of how you can own this kit. Simple, leave a comment on this post, make sure it links back to your blog or website - some way to get a hold of you. If you don't have a blog or a website, please send an email through my profile and I will add your name.
Enter by midnight Eastern time on Friday March 7 and I will add your name to the 'hat'. I will post the name some time on Saturday.

Leaves of Grass
This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body
- Walt Whitman

OHHH! OHHH! I wanna be put in the hat. I have greatly admired your dolls. It inspired me to make a snowman which I bought from a link through you.. (Can't remember her name) anyway, He is 3/4 of the way done and really kinda cute. Has a couple of lampwork buttons on him too. I have also thought alot about my dad and doing a tribute to him (inspired by you) sometime soon. He died 4 years ago next Tuesday and loved John Deere tractors. I am picturing one in lampwork. Can I do it? We shall see.
Just too darn cute a kit to pass up on, even if I did sew the bod myself. (lol) Grace, thank YOU for continually inspiring us through art & life. YOU ROCK! bead on, Monica
