Happy New Year!

What better way to start the year than with a winter themed Dotee doll?

This is another doll that was intended for a swap on Swap-Bot, I have since dropped out of all swaps there - it did not go as well as I would have liked. At least I have a few dolls because of it!

I can't help but smile when I look at her and she feels great in my hand!

This one is about 6 inches tall not counting the hanger at the top or the dangle at the bottom.

I started out with some wonderful deep purple fabric with snowflakes and swirls.

I made up some more of those fun snowflakes found in Nancy Eha's "Bead Creative Art Quilts".

I reinforced the outer edge with a picot stitch and added Swarovski crystals to the hanger and the dangle. And in no time I had a doll!

I'm working on at least one more of these - the next one will be in honor of Valentine's Day, she is very colorful and fancies herself quite the princess.

Happy 2008 to everyone - I wish you and your loved ones good health, happy times and abundant prosperity.

Thanks for the comments friends...

Linda - I love the new faces and shapes you put up, wonderful stuff!

Mary - great to see you here, so true about all my friends south of the Equater!

Kathy - so true, sometimes it seems the smaller the doll, the more the impact.

What a sweet dotee doll -- love all the beading you have done on her -- and you have it absolutely right, the Dotee dolls do feel wonderful in your hands -- I am still making them -- because they just make me feel so good to make and then gift to someone -- Dot's thought of spreading love thru these little dolls sure works :-)

I have enjoyed looking at all the wonderful goodies on your blog. It is terrific.

What a beautiful beaded doll. There is obviously a whole world out there in dollmaking and I've only begun to scratch the surface. I love this one.

Hi Dixie... good to see you here. Aren't they great? I just found them a few months ago and think they are simple and wonderful!
