Fall for me... October BJP

I finished by Beaded Journal Project page for October. I really did not want this one to end, I had such fun beading away on it each evening.

The raku face and leaves beads are by Rama Raku. I was lucky enough to acquire these amazing beads when I stumbled across someone that was selling off their beading inventory. Also included in this piece are Japanese & Czech seed beads; fresh water pearls, Czech pressed glass leaves and Swarovski crystals (3700)

As with the previous pages, it is backed with Ultrasuede and stuffed with just a little bit of fibrefill. It is finished with a pointed edge stitch as found in Jamie Cloud Eakin's "Beading With Cabochons".

I'll have to work on a doll or bracelet or something before I start on my page for November - I want to savor this one for a bit longer.

Just beautiful Grace! You are amazing with the circular swirly stitching...I really struggle to get the lines smooth. I enjoyed seeing all your close up shots of the beads...yummy enough to eat!

I love thinking about all the possible meanings of the title, Fall for Me, and about how these meanings could apply to your lovely bead embroidery. It took me 15 minutes to look at the click-to-enlarge version of this piece... it's so rich with color and texture. As Kathy said, it's yummy!

The color scheme and the bead choices are equally lovely. Put together, they are quite stunning. Can well appreciate why you didn't want this one to end.

I've been fortunate enought to know Tia and Emerald who make the Raku faces and leaves for RAMA for several years now. Their work is just wonderful. If you look at my dolls on my older blog listings you will see several of their faces.

You did a tremendous job on this page. I love it. The subtle colors reflect the soft fall of leaves. I'm with Kathy W. though. I have trouble getting my circles smooth like yours. (Color me green)

Oh Grace, October's page is wonderful. I can see why you hated to finish. The colors and textures do so much, I bet it is great to touch as well.

You inspire me with your lovely work. Glad I can view your pieces.

Wow, thanks for the comments!

Kathy, I have come a long way with my circles and spirals - lot's of happy practice, I'm still learning and loving every minute of it!

Monica, I'm glad you like it.

Robin, October is my birthday month and when fall really comes into color around here. I struggle with self confidence issues at times with my beading (and with other areas of life as do most people), the message is to me and from me. That's at least part of the meaning :-)

ACey - good to see you here again, I love the colors and as much as I like my new camera, it just doesn't quite capture the colors as I see them - so much more vibrant and sparkly in 'real' life.

Bobbi - thank you!

Arline - I sent a note with a photo of my page to the folks at Rama. I'm glad you like what I've done with the raku, I'm going to go look at your dolls as well to see some of those wonderful faces.

HA Viv - thank you, that's quite a compliment.

Kathy, Susan - thank you ladies, I appreciate it!

I can see how you wouldn't want this page to end. The beading ripples out like a stone thrown in a pond. Quite mesmerizing and meditative. The colors, design and stitching are great too!
