We have a winner!

***Update*** October 31 - I removed the video - it takes up a lot of space and for the folks on dial up it takes so much longer to load. If you've made it to the post and want to see the video, let me know and I'll send you a link to view it.

Okay, so I thought I try something a little different and film myself picking the name for the beaded doll. Well when it ran through my head it was brilliant - reality is just a little bit different. Suffice it to say - I will not have a career in the theatre arts any time soon, but hey - I'm a star in my living room (not really, but a girl can dream!). I added a couple of out takes, warm ups if you will. Enjoy!

Will the winner please contact me via email - I'll need your mailing address.

I am laughing my butt right out of my seat! thanks for such an honest peek inside that glorious, artsy head of yours... this was sheer fun! congrats to Maggie!! Now, where does she live so I can rob her of this doll. haha Ok, I'll behave and be happy for her. Now, how long is that hair of yours? I just chopped mine to a pixie cut after growing it for over a year... FREEDOM! and not to mention what I am saving on conditioner I can now spend on FABRIC. heh Luvin' that laugh of yours Grace!

Thanks for the comments, I sit here and laugh a little too. First it's really hard to watch myself on camera as can happen, all I see are the flaws at first.

I think we ended up doing 6 takes or so before I was even comfortable enough to talk to a camera. Yes, Bobbie - my DH is the 'camera man' yelling action. He did that on purpose when he saw that I was losing it, what in instigator. We used the video setting on my digital camera and decided on low lighting on purpose (it's really best for everyone watching as well).

And on hearing myself... I can't quite place my accent, but for some reason I hear a lot of Minnesota in there - not sure why since I'm from California. That alone gives me the giggles.

Monica, the DH just trimmed about 3 inches off my hair and it's still about waist length. I'm far to chicken to cut it (or maybe just set in my ways?), it's very thick and wavy - I did cut it once, many years ago and bore a striking resemblence to Rosanne Rosanna Danna, not in a good way either :-) I love your cut though!

Leaves of Grass

This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body - Walt Whitman
