Post card swap
I am participating in a post card swap hosted by Monica Magness. You can read about the details of the swap here.
This is something that stretches the envelope for me and takes me fairly far outside my comfort zone for a couple of reasons. Other than the 'stuff' I use for beading, I have limited supplies when it comes to other mediums. Thanks to a few generous friends (Monica leading the pack on that front), I do have a fun little box of various items including papers, ribbons, fabric scraps, and I have purchased some small samples of paint in basic colors, etc.
I have done very little to date in the way of altered art, but am encouraged to try again as projects, swaps or challenges present themselves. I really admire the folks that continually create such wonderful works of art.

Leaves of Grass
This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body

Thanks friends - always so encouraging! Well Monica there is that one little thing I have yet to tackle... I still haven't used a sewing machine! My postcard is going in the mail today.
Limited supplies makes you stretch and you did a very good job of it. Little projects like these let you play without worrying too much about the results and the results are usually wonderful, just like your postcard!
Thanks Freebird, that's exactly how I felt - not too much worry, just fun.
HEy Grace - your postcard is just fab - you should get into mixed-media more often!!! Love our colours and stitching!!
Thanks Marie - glad you stopped by!
Hi ya gal, I just posted the postcard entries on my blog, come check 'em out. :)
